Matthew turns 9. And what a busy day it was! He brought treats to school to share (green frosted little sugar cookies). We had an early release day, so I left at noon to pick him up at 12:25. Daddy and Ryan were home by 1:30. He opened up his presents and then we took the birthday boy out to Chili's to eat. They sang to him and brought him out this yummy cake!

  Opening presents...

We went to WalMart after Chili's for a bit. It's his favorite thing to do - wander around and look at all the toys, video games and movies. Then it was home to change and off to his last basketball game.

He got the ball, ran and shot, but missed it.

They actually won their last game! Go team!

Then it was outside. We'd brought more little green frosted sugar cookies to share again. It was actually 3 team players total that had birthday's that week, so we sang to all of them. Then Dude helped her pass out the cookies.

When we got home, we'd bought a small cake for him earlier at WalMart, so we sang (again) and had cake (yes - total sugar day that day was!).

I had a text from his respite worker asking when Matthew went to bed and then if she could come by for a bit. She brought him a present (a super cute Spongebob blanket and a bag of M&M's) and then she and her sister played "wrestling" with him for a few minutes!

What a big day for our sweet Dude! Happy Birthday, honey! We love you so much!!!!!!

"Total sugar days" are the way birthdays are supposed to be! Looks like it was a great day! Happy belated Birthday to Matthew!
