Project 365 | 3.31.2011

Warm day today. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow. I was going to take photos of Matthew during OT today, but it took my until 15 minutes past when she was supposed to be here to remember that she wasn't coming today - ROFL! Go figure. Silly me. So we went straight to homework. I'd erased the door a couple of days ago, so I had Matthew use it for his spelling practice.  I think he had fun doing it! :)

Yes - he did wear a different (Suns) shirt to school today, but once I told he we could go out to play when his homework was done, he asked for "Steve Nash shirt - white". So I dug it out of the laundry. Then he had to put on the orange shorts again too - LOL! We may have to go get some more Suns gear.
Ryan had soccer pratcie again tonight and then alot of homework to get done. They have a game on Monday and he's supposed to find out tomorrow if he's playing then or not. Not exactly sure what will happen after that, if the coach will continue with all the players at practice and then continue to pick for the games, or what. I guess we'll know more tomorrow.

Today at my school, we had a mock evacuation and had to walk about 3 blocks with all the kids in the school. It was warm and made for an interesting journey.
Matthew is continuing to mess with his head some. Frustrating. He'd left it alone all day and then pulled off the scab after his bath tonight.
Speaking of the bath tonight...

He called me in to see his mustache  - ROFL!

Tried out some different processing on those above...

And then this one was from this afternoon. And yeah - I did edit out his boo-boo...
All sweaty from playing out back.

I was talking with a co-worker today about plants and I said that's it's just ridiculous how happy it makes me to see these all coming up. I've planted zinnias (using the seeds from last years plants) and dahlias (from seed packets) and sunflowers (seed packets). The zinnias and dahlias are in pots (although I think a couple are cming up in the rocks with the sunflowers) and the sunflowers are in the rocks behind the mail box. I knew to plant them earlier this year (didn't put them in until June last year - no blooms until late July) and I just can't wait to see them bloom this year!!!! I did also plant some poppies in the pot up closest to the door, but I really don't think they're going to gow. But you never know!

I also have this geranium hanging in a basket on my backporch. Bought it way back in fall and it's just now getting it's groove on and blooming quite a bit. Just in time for it to get hot... ack. Had a little fun with processing with this one...

Miss Adrian came today. She let you choose what you wanted to play with from her van. You couldn't quite decide between Kerplunk & Uno Spin, but in the end, Uno won out...

Ryan tried out for soccer at school today. Haven't had too much time to talk with him about it yet. I had a photo shoot and left before he got home and didn't get back until after he was in his room. He told me that he decided he wants to try for the position that Michael played when in school, so that's cool! There were quite a few kids there today and they said they are going to put them all on the competitive team. What I'm not impressed about is the fact that he has to schlep all his gear and his backpack around all day. I'm hoping they are going to be issued a locker in the gym for his gear at least. It's a lot to carry!
Huge headache tonight and I'm off to bed!

Another low key day today. Michael and Ryan headed out to the range this morning. I did send the camera with them, but they only shot a couple videos, no photos! Matthew had his baseball pics this afternoon. They shot against a green screen to add in a background later, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out! His little face is still kinda pocka dotted up from being sick and - yep - he's picking at his forehead again...

Michael actually had this whole weekend off! Yay! Of course, Matthew didn't feel good Friday and I'm either coming down with a cold or allergies are getting to me. Ack. Fairly low key day, for we were hoping that Matthew would still be playing in the baseball tournament today. But- no! He did have baseball though. Gma and Gpa came and then went out to eat with us at Dairy Queen after.
Matthew did seem to be better today. Until baseball that it - LOL! He kept coming out to take "rest" breaks. At least he was drinking water when he took them - rehydrate him back up!

We kept Matthew out of school today (me too) to go to his basketball tournament. First, I was so excited to take him back to our home school to visit his old classmates. They knew he was coming and he was just so excited to see them! And they were super excited to see him!

We talked with them for a bit, and then he started to throw up!!!! Luckily, I got him over to the trash can in time, but man! So we finished up our trip and went home to see if he was just excited or sick. Yep, he was sick and stayed sick for the rest of the day. No tournament for him...

Nothing too note worthy today, except you boys were ready to go out to play. I was finishing a few things up and overheard Ryan getting Matthew to get his homework out. Then he proceeded to sit down with him at the table and help him get it done! Nice! So - yes - we did go out front to play...

Tonight was Matthew's Awards Ceremony and pizza party for basketball.
A shot of me...

We were happy to see that he ate 2 full slices of pizza - cheese please!

Getting his certificate.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that one of the other families had put together little scrapbooks of all the players! It is so cute and such a good souvenir of their short season!

Today is World Down Syndrome Day!

We didn't really do anything to celebrate, other than love on this guy and be oh, so thankful that he's in our lives!

Today I attended a concert in the backyard, given by this backup singer for Big Time Rush. It was a pretty good concert! :)

No baseball tonight, for Spring Break. It was a Super Moon, though and I did try to capture it...

Another busy day today. We had a special visitor to see Matthew - Mrs. Taylor!!! He was so happy to see her and she him! She couldn't believe how big he'd grown! LOL!

Then Miss Lee came for MT. She had a new drum set with her...

Then it was outside to play in the water with the neighborhood kids. I got out my 100-300 Off brand lens and had some fun with it. Need to get it out more often when we are outside in the bright light! :)

This dove was enjoying the water...
