Matthew blowing bubbles yesterday afternoon.

  • Sunday Ramblings...
  • Yep - it rained. Again. Last night and up until early afternoon today. Yep - I cleaned house yesterday. Bought a Swiffer Wet Jet and did the floors yesterday. And it rained. Again. I knew it was going to rain. Again. But still. Is it just too much to ask for the floors to stay footprintless for more than 12 hours?
  • Have I mentioned I hate the dirt?
  • Still loving my new washer/dryer! Awesomeness!
  • Still loving my new lens! Awesomeness! All today's photos are taken with it. It takes photos differently than the 50 1.4. Don't really know how, but it does.

We went to the park a couple of times this week, when Michael was home. Had fun! Looked for baby ducks, but didn't find any. I *think* it's too early.

  • Matthew - He had a better week at school this week - well, Mon. & Tues. By Wed. he went downhill a little bit again. LOL! But still a pretty good week all in all. He's still picking on his forehead anytime the bandaid is off. I am so sick of the bandaid and so wish it would heal.
  • Ryan - He took the motorbike out again several times this week and got it out of 1st gear. He's still doing really well on it! He's been begging to go to the Observatory for weeks now and I took him last night. The volunteers had it set up on one star and didn't really more it around anywhere, but they had a computer set up that helps to make the scope track that Ryan enjoyed looking at. It was kinda fun to watch him soak up all the information like a sponge!
  • The 2 hour tour to WalMart was 3 hours yesterday. Ugh. Why is it that I can go with one or the other of them and it's fine, but with both of them, it turns into a nightmare?
  • I'm down about 5 pounds now. YAY!
  • I have another roast with carrots and potatoes in the crockpot again today! Double Yum!
  • I'm doing some Conscious Discipline training at school. It's kinda interesting. It's a principle that our school really goes by and it's nice to get training it in to be able to follow through with it. Hopefully it can help both at school and here at home.
  • Running. I still can't believe that I'm doing it. I start Week 5 this week. Each week I think that I can't possibly run more than I have been, but I do. And I feel good about it. I do! I'm not really sore anymore. But I can feel that I did the run on the day that I did it. Muscles are just fatigued a bit. This is the week when the program changes each of the 3 days that I'm doing it in. I need to be up to 4.2 miles in just under 2 months. And I'm doing nowhere near that right now. But I will.

Captured this shot of Ryan with Smokey in his lap yesterday. Pretty much sums up our day - inside for it's raining... again...

Sunday ramblings...

Matthew stayed sick last weekend. he didn't throw up anymore after Sat., but he just seemed off. Mon. night he complained of a sore throat and when I looked - yep - spots. Michael took him in to the doc on Tues. and he did indeed have strep throat again. This time he is taking his amoxicilian like a big boy and it's staying down! Horray!!!! He stayed home Tues & Wed., but had an Awesome Thur. & Fri. at school! We had a meeting on his EIP (time to update it for the year) and the team is doing such a great job adjusting everything for his needs! They are adding in some OT at school - 1/2 hour on Fri.'s per a week. And the OT is going to come to the school - double Yay! His new chart seems to be going well.

Michael and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary on Wed. We got out of school at 1pm on Wed., so we were able to drop the boys off at Gma's right after that and spend the afternoon alone together. My brother had mentioned Best Buy having a 0% financing deal which had me thinking of replacing our washer/dryer. My parents bought them for me before I met Michael, so they were at least 16 years old now. Michael had fixed both of them several times, but the washer was needing work again. So - for 18 months 0% finaincing, we decided to just replace them. Hopefully this fancy new pair will have the same longevity that the last set did!
Michael went pretty much all out for our day! It was so nice! He was going to have flowers delivered to school, but we had a Field Day at school that day and we're were never in the room, and he had a certain helpeer at home with him that day. He looked for basketball tickets for us to go that night, but the Suns were in Dallas. We went to a basketball game on our wedding night and saw the Maverick's play - so that would have been cool! But he did totally surprise me! He kept asking what I might want, and I kept saying there was nothing I needed, but the new washer/dryer and nothing I wanted but a ring off of Etsy and new lenses to my camera which are too expensive if we're going to get the washer/dryer. After we picked out the w/d, ate a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse, we went home to feed the pups. Then he tells me he got me a little something and did I want my surprise? He had me close my eyes and hold out my hands and he places this little gem in them...

What???? How did you get that? Seems he went in cahoots with Adrian and had her order it, have it shipped to her and then picked it up (With Matthew in the car, since he was home! They were worried that he would spill the beans about having gone to Miss Adrian's, but he never did!). He figured I might see an e-mail or the box or something if he did it, so she kindly ordered it for him! Totally surprised me!!!!!! I love it so far! I took the photos of the boys above with it and the ones in the garden - Yum! Makes me feel horrible though, for I thought we weren't going to get anything for each other and here he went and did this!!!!!! After I tried the lens out for a couple of pics, we went out and got ice cream. Ended up wandering around Fry's, of all places, while we ate it and I found a new frame and basket on clearance. I'll share what I have in mind for the frame when I get it done - hopefully today.

Today - I'm playing catch up again. Trying to get this posted everywhere, updated the photos, and do lots of laundry!!!! LOL! It's going so much faster with the new machines! Nice! Have a great Sunday! More new stuff below...

We are such a motor driven family - LOL! We bought the golf cart at Christmas. And now the dirt bike. One of Michael's co-workers asked him if Michael was interested in one. He'd had it for his kids, but they'd out grown it and it was just sitting in the garage. So, he brought it to work and Michael brought it home. With a little TLC, he got it to run, and started taking Ryan out for lessons up and down the street on it. He's now able to get it started, turn down the choke a little and cruise up and down the street in 1st gear. He won't be allowed to take it out of 1st until he can handle most anything that comes his way, but he's getting pretty good at it...

A pretty quiet week. We had a 1pm release from school this week and Daddy was home that day. We went to Sir Franks Alot by the airport right after school and had hot dogs! Yum!
Here the boys were doing their homework together at the table. It was just a nice, sweet afternoon. We weren't in a hurry. They weren't fighting. Ryan had someone come to school that day and taught them a little about check writing. They had given them a fake checkbook and Ryan had written out a "check" to Matthew for 2 Trillion $ - LOL - "for being a good brother". Matthew was so excited to get it and said "Thank you, brother!!!" and gave Ryan a kiss on the forehead.
See - sweet, huh?
Matthew is using his new pencil chew stick that we ordered. He's not too bad about chewing on his pencil at home, but at school he's a pencil chewing fiend. So we ordered chew sticks - pencil toppers, a pocket one that goes in his backpack and a "T' one for here at home.
