Last day of school until the New Year! It was a short day too - with us getting out at 12:30. You were able to meet Mr. Taylor (your aide - Mrs. Taylor's husband) today. After school, we went to the library to pick up some movies and to WalMart to pick up things for Ryan's BD party tomorrow. Tonight we pick Daddy up from the airport after being in KS for the last 2 weeks!
Miss Lynnette brought this cute edible Christmas project for you to do today! Ice cream cones upside down, frosted, then decorated to make cute little Christmas trees. You frosted them yourself with just a little help from Lynnette at the end and even picked the candy off with your fingers to eat when it was done!
Notice his forehead? It's from the small fingernail scrap I accidentally gave him over 2 weeks ago. It was before Michael left. He keeps picking and picking at it, so it hasn't healed over yet. *sigh*
I also got the Teacher's gifts done tonight. This year I did a candle, the Pretzel Hugs, Peanut Butter/Chocolate Fudge, a $10 Target gift card and a Christmas card. I had bought the cute apple buckets back in Aug or Sept., but didn't buy enough. So had to get some of the cute Holiday ones to suppliment.
Didn't have much time or energy to take a photo today. I had seen a shot (much better than this one) some where in the last few days and thought it was so fun with the tree in the ball too. I'd done this when it was on the tree, but never with the tree it in. Ryan came over to see what I was doing, so I got him in there too!
Happy Birthday Ryan! I can hardly believe you are 12 years old today! Seems like just yesterday that we were on our way to the base hospital in rush hour traffic to welcome you into the world. Now you are as big as me!
Hopefully he had a good day. They were both up at 6am. By 6:30, we just all got up. He opened his presents from us first thing. Matthew actually handed them to him this year and didn't rip them open before Ryan could get them. His big present was this new MP3 player. We had picked up DD donuts yesterday (Choc Mint) and he had those for breakfast. Then on to school. I had to go grab another set of cookies after I dropped them off. We played outside for a bit. When we came in, "Marley" had managed to knock my cake dome over and had shattered the whole top to it. *sigh* Ryan wanted Arby's for dinner, so we went through the drive-thru and brought it home. Watched (most) of his new GI Joe movie that we had given to him as we were eating. Till Matthew came in to watch and I decided it wasn't for him! LOL!
Still am feeling rushed and overwhelmed. Mailed off the package to VT today. Finished the ornaments. Still need to put together the teacher's gifts, make the treats to go with them, finish the Christmas letter, then address and mail all the Christmas Cards. Tired.
Nice afternoon, the boys had no homework, so we went out to play after school. Caught this one of the soon-to-be-12-years-old boy. Then we came inside and found out that "Marley" had struck again while we were out front. He managed to get one of the packs of 10 frosted, sprinkled sugar cookies off the counter that Ryan was to take to school the next day and had eaten them all. All.
I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned today. But I got alot accomplished. This photo taken at night ended up being my favorite of the day for many reasons. It makes me think of the ceiling fans in there that I cleaned today. It shows the photo prints that I picked up the day before and hung up today. The candles in the fireplace, for it rained today and was cool enough to add them in there and light them. The pupster sleeping peacefully and the Christmas movie I was watching on TV (Santa Baby). A nice end to the day.
What a lovely start to the day. So pretty. The house was so nice and quiet. Just me, in my pj's, checking my e-mail with the 1st cup of coffee of the day in my hand. Ryan went over to Gma's last night and Matthew ended up sleeping in until 8:30! And I woke him up at that time, going in to check on him.
Today is errond day again. Peanut and I have to go to Target, WalMart and Coscto. Then home to clean house and do luandry for the rest of the weekend!
Ahhhhhh - Friday! We had a long day and ran a few erronds after school. Didn't get home until 5pm. Apparently we should have gotten home sooner. Smokey was at it again. My poor Scarlett collection. He's gotten 2 of them in the last 2 days. He got the red dress one yesterday. I thought I had looked everywhere and moved them all up higher, but apparently not. He got the green dress one today. And the snowman and the glass bulb. He just had to pick my 2 favorites from my collection too. The butt.
Dad has been giving me at least one of these a year and I love them.
We ran to Big Lots and I bought a new comforter for our bed - an inexpensive $20 one, but one that doesn't have holes in it from the dog. And a warmer one too! LOL! Then we ran my Gma's for a bit. And last stop was Blockbuster to pick up some movies and games for this weekend.
Check out Songbird Avenue's December Kit, (Re)Collection with this month's fabulous guest designer, Paislee Press!
He doesn't look like he's having fun or anything, huh? Matthew was invited to a double birthday party tonight! The 2 birthday girls have a little something extra too and so did most all of the guests! So much fun! It was held at this giant jumpy place. He had a BLAST! And I enjoyed being about to talk to the parents (and the cake! LOL!).
At school today, they had the BMX bike show again, just like last year! The kids were all so excited! It was Ryan's day for Patrol and he was out on the playground when they showed up to set up and ended up being able to help them with setting up some of the ramps and such. They ended up giving him a signed poster when it was all done for his help! Really cool!
Ryan's Winter Concert was tonight. He got all dressed up in his shirt and tie and looked so handsome. Gma & Gpa joined us and came over for cookies after the concert.
Of course, when Matthew saw that Ryan was wearing a tie, he wanted one too. I pulled out his shirt and sweater vest from Aunt Sherry's wedding and he wore that (and insisted on wearing it to school the next day too!). He looked so handsome also. He also had to help out Mr. A with directing before the show (and once for a brief minute during the concert - LOL!)!
Today's big story was the wind from the night before and that we had rain.
Ah, yes - rain. As you can see, someone decided to enjoy it a bit too much. We came home from school. Matthew got earphones and headed out back. I call out for him to stay on the porch, it's wet. I check e-mail and hear Smokey being rowdy in the living room. I look over and he's covered to his puppy elbows in mud and fligging it all over the living room. I shut the dog door and look out to find Matthew ankle deep in mud outside. I try to talk him out of it - but he's having too much fun. So - I grab the camera. LOL! We had Miss Adrian coming within 10 minutes from that - so Matthew got a shower and the dog had a elbow's down shower and we were (mostly) ready when she got there!
Matthew wanted to put on his pirate costume from a past Halloween and then he went outside and played in the dirt. And played and played! LOL! By the time he was done, the dog bowl full of dirt ended up upside down, dumping out all the dirt onto the backporch. Not sure if the dog did it or the boy!
SDSA Christmas Party. Such fun! The bubble reminded me of snow - LOL! It was quite cool, which was fun for a Christmas Party. You both sat on Santa's lap, did some crafts (trees with foam stickers and paper chains), danced alot! We visited with many friends, and still didn't see them all!
Mommy spent the rest of the day running erronds and grocery shopping.
Miss Lynnette came today and brought many fun projects with her! You did a snow globe and this cute penguin ornament.
Before she came over - I went out and caught Matthew with the sunlight behind him, just for fun...
I took them to the park today. I needed to try for a nicer photo of the 2 of them together. almost 2 hours later - I got a couple.
Yes - I said - a couple!
Today we started with the many advent calendars, trying to contain the "Santa" excitement with Matthew! He gets so excited and we have ti show him that it's still many days away!
Here his is in his element. Pretty much everyday after school, anymore, he gets his "earphones" and goes out on the back porch to listen for a bit. Today with the Santa hat on and on the mini trampoline.
Love that you can see with tree through the window behind him!
