I put music on Ryan’s old MP3 player for you this last week and you are enjoying rockin’ out to the music! You also let Mommy put some mouse in your hair and spike it up some this morning! What a cool dude you are!
It's been a long week around here. Michael has been working 10+ days for a solid week now and it will continue through at least this Wed., and probally longer than that. It was hot here again all week too, which didn't help him any.
With the heat - we didn't have lunch recess at school for the whole end of the week. I've had DIEBELS testing for the students this week and was only in the room for morning recess and then lunch and lunch recess. It was not a good week. The kids aren't used to me or something and they were just all over when I had them. I am enjoying having from 1pm until 3 to myself! It's so nice to be able to run quick errands by myself. I feel guilty for not being in my room, but there's not much I can do about it! They keep saying they may add to our hours in a month or so.
Matthew had a could of bad times too. Wouldn't come off the playground for me one morning. Fun. We've been working on him going to the restroom in the hallway one (a larger, more than one bathroom), but it's not working well if any other boy is in there when he walks in. If it's empty - he does just fine. But being Mr. Social, not so well if someone's in there. I usually come help with that, for then it's me going in after him (when we clear it!!!!!) instead of his aide and that makes her more comfortable. He started his pull-out sessions with Miss F last Friday. She's only at school in the afternoons, so he will be down there for alot of it. Since his aide doesn't have so many hours, they're adjusting it so she's with him upstairs and has her off time when he's downstairs. I'm not sure how many are down there with him - but it's a much smaller setting, so it whould he him concentrate more in the afternoons. He was getting kinda squirrely upstairs in the afternoons!
Ryan seems to be adjusting well to his classroom. He is liking his teacher! She gave them a unique assignment for spelling where they had these little "projects" to do, like alphabetizing them, writing down the definition and such to get points. It really made him pay attention to the spelling, which I appreciated. I think he should have gotten a 100% on spelling this week - we'll see! :)
