I've read them, but I wanted to reread them. The wait is too long at the library again, so I used a gift card to buy them. Still need to get the other 2...

Woot!

Someone was watching over me... I thought my EHD with all my kits, pages and photos on it was lost. I took out the HD in it and tried to get another HD to read. It wouldn't and when I put the other one back in - it wouldn't read! I was so upset, for I haven't backed up stuff in awhile (11.5 GB's of digi stuff and umpteen photos and pages to be exact!). But thankfully after letting it sit for a couple days and then trying it again tonight, it works again! Yay! Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow?
Lots of things going on and not time to do much of anything. Let alone having the energy to do it! ;) I have been taking photos, so will try to update them soon. Getting slim pickin's with me working, subject matter seems to be dwindling - so not sure what I'll do. I'm working on a cool project for my goddaughter that I will share later on if I can. Kinda excited to see this today... Not that I am political at all, but she has a son, born in April, that has Down syndrome. Makes it very interesting to us as a family to see what might happen! Should be an interesting race...
We had quite the storm come through here last night. Michael thought he was in the land of OZ for sure - his hanger at work almost blew away in the Hurricane 1 force winds...
Well - I'm off to try to get to sleep! Will try to post photos and more tomorrow! Nite!

Silly boys....
I got my hair cut on Tues. Much shorter! I needed it shorter to be able to withstand the heat on the playground. It seems a little too flippy - kinda like I have Liberty Bell shaped hair. We'll see...

He's such a peanut. Things are not going super smooth at school for him and I really don't expect it to get smooth for at least 2 more weeks. At least. There's just too much right now. Different substitute aides, too many kids, too much. But I know it will get better!

We played with food some today. And then he drew and wrote the name of what all we played with.

See? Cheeto (with an extra "e"), ham (with an extra "m" in front) and olive! Then he wrote his name on the back...

Ha! Weird photo - but funny to us! When we were in VT, Grammie & Grandpy upgraded to digital cable and they had On Demand there. They've been announcing for months here that it would be coming and today, we found that it was turned on! LOL!

Playing peek-a-boo through the holes in the book!

Can you read his shirt? Really bad photo.... but it says "When God created me, he was just showing off"! ROFL! I love it!

Ryan had to get into the play too!

So - the first week of school is over! I am feeling so weird about it all. In some ways, I feel like I haven't been "working" - just volunteering. But I am so tired! So much more so than I thought I'd be. I've had weird to me hours all week. About 9:15 to 12:30 and then 1:30 to 3 pm. One day I had to sub on the Crosswalk already! Kinda good, for now I really know what to do for that. It was nice to do it while I still remembered everything from the training. But... it. was. really. HOT! LOL! I'm at the school in the morning to drop off Ryan and Matthew, so the kids all come over to me and start asking me questions. They don't understand that I'm not "clocked in" yet - LOL! I had a couple of trials today with a child that wasn't fun. I've learned that being a mom doesn't really prepare me to be an aide in a Kindergarten room. There is much more to it than that. I've learned that teachers are saints. I think patience is their invisible cloak.

Ryan - he said of his teacher this year... "She's fun!". I think there can be no bigger compliment than that. I'm truely glad he got her for a teacher this year. He's going to be starting band this year! Hopefully it won't make me run, screaming, out of the house when he's practicing - LMAO! He's going to try the trumpet. Actually starting on the very same one that Michael played when he was little. My brother played the cornet in high school too. So Ryan should have lots of help to learn it, should he need it!

Matthew - well. His one-on-one aide has quit already. She says it was a scheduling conflict with her children, but I'm not sure if I believe that. One thing I do know is that if she doesn't want to be there (for whatever reason), I don't want her there either. I want someone to want to be there with my son. I sincerely hope that she didn't feel that I was breathing down her neck, since his class is out at recess and at lunch at the same time as my class. I truely don't think that's the case, but I worry about that anyway. He had a bit of a rough week. It's so hard to transition back into school from summer anyway. But to have 31 kids in a room (our room has 34) = there's just alot going on and he gets very distracted. I can tell he's very, very tired. But I can also tell that he is adjusting to all of it. So - hopefully someone wonderful will be hired as his aide and will be there all year long and it will be awesome! Everything happens for a reason...

They have gotten the ok to hire another K teacher, so after next week - a sub (a K teacher that has been at the school forever, who retired this last year and is subbing this year. Love her!) will be starting out the class until they can hire a new teacher for that position. They also need an aide for that room and an aide for another room, along with an aide for Matthew. At least there's an end in sight! It's so hard with that many kids in the room, not to mention, not very fair to the kids!

K - I'm off to bed to read my book! Nite!
