So...

I took my camera to the birthday lunch for my dad and took pics. I took pictures of my grandparents headstones when we went to put new flowers there. Then I checked the camera to see the pics... and found out that I had no card in it!!! Oh well. :)

This 12 hours shift thing...

is very different. Michael is here for a couple of hours in the morning or at night when he is working. Then he's just gone for the rest of the day. It's very different. Not bad... not good... just different. The boys and I went in the pool today. We lost water out of it twice today. A hose came off the pump at sometime this afternoon and put water all over in the rocks. Hopefully it didn't burn out the pump. And then I was refilling it tonight - and somehow the garden hose came out of it. Well - at least the lawn got watered good! :) LOL!
Went to WalMart today. Always fun with 2 boys in tow. Made the mistake of trying a 2 kid cart again. Everytime I do that, I swear it's the last time. Then I wait 6 months or so and I forget and try it again. It never works out. Matthew for some reason thinks Ryan is in his space and beats on his big brother. Makes shopping so fun! So a little McD's later, things sort of evened out. We can't get out of there without McD's anymore. Matthew is signing french fries as we are pulling into the parking lot! I had to make Ry stay out of the cart - but had him help me get stuff off the shelves, which he liked. He knew to be on good behavior or no pool. That helped too.
Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday, so we are supposed to get together with them. Michael found out that he has training next week - so he is basically working thru next Sunday right now. Today will be the last 12 hour shift till Friday with Monday thru Thursday being 8 to 10 hours. Could be an even more interesting week! :)
More later!

Water Day

Matthew had a Water Day at school on the 23rd. The teachers had 3 little pools, a water table, various sprinklers and the big hit - spray bottles - for the kids to romp around in. It was hot already (his class is in the morning) - which made it nice for them - but a little toasty for us adults! Michael got to come with me to the whole day. He worked on the weekend and was off. Miss Pat had pizza delivered as a fun treat for them after we came in. Matthew had 3 half slices, I think!n He is definitely my pizza buddy!
Not much else happening right now. Need to get some kind of groove going on with having the kids home for summer. Need a little structure - a plan - of how the day should go. Ryan will go to the reading class for the month of June. Matthew's therapy's will be starting around then too. I think we have an OT, a PT, and possibly a Music therapist. Now all we need is an ST (the hardest one around here to find).
I did get my teacher's presents done. Ryan's teacher got a Avery notebook decorated to use as a lesson planner next year. She used one all this year - so I hope it will come in handy for her next year. Matthew's got a clipboard that was decorated and then Mod Podged. She has a clipboard that we sign the kids in/out with - so now she has a pretty one. All 5 teachers and aides got GC to Burger King to have lunch ( put in a decorated library card type holder). Hopefully they will all enjoy them. I also finished 3 bracelets for people in the last 2 days. It's good to have that all done and off my to do list!
Alright - I'm to bed. Will try to take new photos this weekend and post. It's my dad's BD on Monday - so should have pics then! :)

There is something wrong with the system...

I suck it up and call about the meds and get quotes from $5.99 to $15.00 to have it filled. So, of course, I'm on it. But what I don't understand is why without insurance I can pay $5.99 for something that usually runs me $10-$15 with insurance? Isn't there something worong with this??? So by the time I get home - I feel like crap again - 101 temp, Yeah! Does my body just know that I've got help and so now it's putting up a big fight??? Off to bed!!!!

If I'm EVER that sick again....

Just shoot me!!! Oh My Goodness! is all I can say. I think that I have finally turned the corner and will live - but we'll see.
So updates for the week -
Ryan - He went back to school last Friday - he seemed to be well enough to handle it. Have been putting him to bed at 7:30 each night to get well rested and it seems to have knocked it out of him. He only has school until Wed. of next week. They seem to have 3 days of fun scheduled for then! A art day - game day and a pizza day~ what fun! I suck at having him do his homework for the past 2 weeks. Luckily, his teacher forgave last week's and this week's is only spelling. He's so ready to get out of the house and do things right now! He will be starting a reading class at school for the month of June, so he will be there for 3 hours in the morning, 4 days a week I think.
Matthew - he went back to school on Monday this week. He had his very 1st day of not getting a sticker at school today. He was totally putting things into his mouth as a bad attention getter to the teacher. Hopefully that will stop. They were short handed and I couldn't help today and he choose it to be bad for the 1st time! Little bugger! He seems to be slowly getting better also. I am now into the mode of getting all his therapys back into the works. His OT and Music therapy are maybe decided on, but we still need to find an ST and PT. I'm still on the fence about adding a habilitation therapist. All of the others are an hour a week, except PT which is every other week. HT would be 10+ hours a week on top of that. Add school back into it in the fall - and my head just about spins off. He gets to have a fun water day on Monday at school and of course mommy will be there to take photos!!!!
Michael - so far (knock on wood) he has escaped the sick bug. It's nipping at his heels though, so we'll see. He started at Mesa Air on Monday. This whole week is about in-doc stuff. Kind of boring he says - but reminds him a whole lot of the military and how things were done. So kind of a homecoming of sorts. Next week they have a training class and he will be on line the week after. The benefits seem good. It totally cracks me up because we have flight benefits in 60 days - but health benefits don't kick in until 90 days. Isn't there something wrong with that picture???? He has been a real trooper since last week helping me with the kids, but he's a little sick of doing it all and wants me well again! He has gotten the new liner in the pool and it is filtering and all and we may get in it tonight. Definately this weekend - it's going to be 108ish!
Me - I can't remember the last time I was this sick. Michael came home Friday night and I crawled into bed and stayed there till Monday morning basically. I was sick at Thanksgiving, but it was only for 3 or so days then. I guess I had to have a hurrah into winter and one out of it! Yeah for me! Monday I felt pretty good - but I ended up helping in Matthew's room in the morning. A friend bought me her bracelet to add her new son's name to. After she left I was horrified at the condition of my home. So Monday afternoon/Tuesday, I cleaned. Tuesday I gamely food shopped. Not a good idea - Wednesday I was out for the count again. I was supposed to go to Diane's, but couldn't brave the idea of driving 45 minutes each way, let alone not throwing up on the beautiful watercolors I was to be matting and framing. So I paid out the wasu to go to the Urgent Care. She gave me a prescription for amoxicillian and sent me on my way. Now, of course, I'm hating the fact that I paid that much money for a prescription that I haven't filled yet - because it's probally too much money. I have a sinus infection, but decongestant was keeping it into check. It was the pressure in my chest and the nausea/throwing up that I coundn't take. Well, last night, after taking naps again - I decided to try a gas pill. What do you know - something as simple as that knocked those symptoms out! But today, I'm re-thinking the prescription thing - because now my nose seems worse! :) I've had to struggle to keep myself from doing too much today - Everything's such a mess and I can't stand it! But at least I'm moving. My husband is going to be VERY happy that I'm not horizontal! Thank God for my mommy! She took Matthew yesterday so I could rest and go to the doc. She came by this morning and was going to steal my laundry to do it for me - but I only have a few loads, and wouldn't let her take it. I did whites today, since we were out of socks and will do another load tonight. I'm still super overwhelmed by the thoughts of getting Matthew's therapys all lined up. But it's for the best, so I need to just suck up and do it.
I've only coughed on the computer screen a few times!! ugh! Well - off I go. One is home from school and has homework to do and the other is up from his nap and wants OUT of his crib!!! Will have pics on Mon if not before! Take care all!

Day #5 in the sicky household

So far only Michael has been spared. Hopefully he will stay that way with starting his new job on Monday. I thought Ryan seemed to be better and might go to school tomorrow - then he crawled into bed at 6pm and fell asleep! So he's probally staying home tomorrow too! Matthew will defiantly be. We let them play in the kid pool for 20 minutes or so today, and of course the new camera came out! Brought out the big lense too. I LOVE MY NEW CAMERA!!!!! Off to bed. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

We met Grandma and Grandpa at the buffet for breakfast this morning. We got there at 8am - hoping to beat the rush. We did - just barely. It was definitely packed by the time we left. We may go over there to swim this afternoon. My camera was my big present - it's awesome! Ryan made me a great book in school and also had me a card this morning. Matthew had made me a nice art piece with a poem and his fingerprint on it at school also. Ryan woke up at 5:30 am with a headache, so both of us have pretty much been up since then. Hopefully peace will reign for the rest of the day!

SDSA Thank You Party

We went to the SDSA Thank You party last night. It's the final hurrah until fall and the Buddy Walk. The weather was very coperative this year - so nice and mild. They had good food, great company and cool music. Matthew ran around kissing and hugging all the new babies. He also put on quite a show dancing to the music for everyone. Ryan hadn't felt too good and was asleep when Matthew and I left, but he and Michael suprised us by showing after an hour after we got there. Ryan played in the sand of the volleyball court for a while. We stayed until it was getting dark. I'm glad that the playgroup will still be going on this summer - it always seemed such a long time til we would see everyone again - so it's nice to still have that!

Here we go again...

changes that is. My DH, Michael, has left his job of 8 years and will be starting a new job at Mesa Air on the 16th. All very different and exciting. So we are having fun going to breakfast and running errands on the days that the boys are both in school. Just being together without being bombarded by questions and such for a few hours is so nice! He is relaxing so much more right now, it's great!
Matthew has been approved for long term health care and so we are in the process of getting all his home therapists back into place. I feel the slight panic that I felt when we began all of this 3 years ago when we had him. It always seems so overwhelming at first. It took me a full year before I felt comfortable about it all. In Feb, when he started preschool and we halted everything for the time being... I was just starting to feel a routine for it all. He will hopefully continue with 2 of his previous therapist, but there will be 2 to 3 more new ones to find. He could go to school this summer also... but that just seems like TOO much. I'm hoping that if we add all the therapists in, that it won't be too crazy to add school back into the mix this fall. Hopefully, it's just me that feels overwhelmed by it all, not him! Ryan is going to a reading class for a few hours in the morning for 4 days a week for June. Then he will be home with us for the rest of the summer.
On a FUN note... my new Canon Digital Rebel will be here on Firday!!!! I can't wait! It's pretty much all this year's holiday's rolled into one great present from my hubby. Will post new pics with it when I play a little!
