Field Trip Day

So today was all about 4 kids at the Zoo. What fun! I had the biggest headache by the time to leave! But we did have fun (I hope). We saw everything there was to see there. The lions, tigers, & wallabys, oh my! Had lunch next to the monkeys. And walked our legs off! Now on to next year's field trip. Where is that anyway???
Michael and Grampy took in the DBack/Red Sox game tonight. Michael says they are in good seats - to the left of homeplate. Hopefully they are having fun.
Both munchins were so tired they dropped off to sleep quick.
tomorrow is another day!

Grammie and Grampy are here tomorrow!

That's right, on their way they will be! We are so happy that they can come to visit. It's been a long while since Grampy was here, but Grammie was here in April. So, a house cleaning I go! It's time to put Easter away anyway, which also makes for a good time to clean. What is it about visitors that makes us feel like everything has to be in perfect order and perfect shape? Our normal everyday lives are so far from the Pottery Barn look we want when company comes. I tell them they are my reason to Spring Clean everytime they come. That way the major cleaning happens a couple of times a year, guaranteed. So, the Dixie Chicks are on, and away I go!

Easter 2005

Today started at about 5:45 this morning! The cat woke Ryan up and once he figured out what day it was, it was all over. We managed to keep him in with us til Matthew woke up a 6:45, then out to the living room we all went. Their baskets were waiting for them there! Candy and books, and chicks that chirp and all sorts of stuff. Ryan had written the bunny a note the night before to have the bunny leave a note for each of them for their treasure hunt. Ryan's note had a clue and Matthew's had a picture. So they found their secret treasures hidden in their shower from their clues. Then it was outside to hunt for eggs. Candy, bubble gum, and money in the eggs. Now on to the rest of the day!

SDSA Egg Hunt

Today was the SDSA Easter Egg Hunt. It was held at the Rockin' R Ranch this year. I haven't been there since I was a kid. It's not like I remember at all either! Both boys had a great time! There was a bouncy, bubbles, raffle prizes, a craft to make ( they both made a bunny magnet for the fridge), food and, of course, the Easter Bunny! The egg hunt was over so quick! Michael had to work today - so our next door neighbors went with us.

A little color, please!

Ahhh... what would easter be without coloring eggs? It's the activity I look forward to the most at Easter. The joy of all those white eggs just waiting to become a colorful masterpiece. So many possibilties. Then there comes the reality of coloring eggs with my boys. I think the whole thing was over in about 15 minutes. They both just couldn't color them fast enough it seemed. And trying to make sure that Matthew doesn't color himself, drink the dye or turn himself blue while taking pictures... ah, that's another thing all together! It was his 1st time. Another first come and gone.

Real Life...

So I read this quote last night in a magazine - "Real life with all its blips and blemishes is what makes us interesting." I find that to be so true right now. :) With all the reality TV (alot that I watch) and all these fun blogs and such... isn't it the blips and blemishes that make it so interesting? It's also nice to see that other people's lives can somewhat mirror yur own. That other people have bad hair, kid, money, laundry kind of days too. It's kind of funny how things evolve, too. First there was the phone, then cell phone, e-mail and now blogs. All just to keep up with one another. And so my very real life goes on...

Matthew turned into a stegasuarus (sp?) today! They are currently studying dinosars, and they all dressed up! Very cute! The 1st part is supposed to be up on his head... but he wasn't going to leave all that on for very long! I was glad to have been working in the classroom today to see it all!

Thankful

So, I was feeling a little down today - you know... wanting to lose weight, bad hair day - need it cut, want a bigger house, more money... etc. But after reading another blog about living with less, I started thinking maybe I should think more positively and be thankful for what I have. So here goes...

* My husband - I mean - I love this guy! He provides for us - which lets me stay home with the boys. He is so strong and steadfast. Such a wonderful man. I'm so glad he's mine. After 10 years - I still choose him!

i was crazy 'bout you then, and now
but the craziest thing of all...
over ten years have gone by
you're still mine
we're locked in time - Jack Johnson (Thanks, T!)

* My boys - I love these guys so much! The little things they do that are so funny. Their giggles when they set each other off! (photo above)

* My friends and family all over this great big country. Some are new friends, some have been friends through thick and thin for over 1/2 my life! I love and miss you all!

* I am thankful for my brother, Paul. He may live a ways away, but he's only a phone call away. And I know that he will be there no matter what.

* I am so thankful for my parents and for the fact that I can live in the same city as they do. I love that my boys see them weekly and that mom can watch them for me!

* I am thankful that, although they might not live here, Grammie and Grampy can visit several times a year so we can see them.

*I am thankful for the beautiful flowers and fruit blossoms in my yard that smell so yummy right now! (photos below)

* I am thankful that I live in a country where my son can be valued as a human being and not shoved into an institution somewhere, just because he has down syndrome. I am thankful that I do not have to have him adopted out to the USA so that he could have a life.

I am thankful for so many little things - e-mail & phones to keep in touch with each other, pretty little things that make me smile, music ( as I play itunes on my computer). What are you thankful for?

* Leave to go to library before picking up Matthew.

These are my flowers out front. So pretty right now... I know, living in Arizona, that it's only a matter of time until it will just be too hot for them. But for now, they are ours to enjoy!

Hi - It's me...

I've tried to talk myself out of this... but here I go anyway. Now to see if I really use this thing!!! The SDSA Motorcycle run was today. Of course, sunny AZ had rain today. Lately it seems it rains every weekend. Michael went, but I opted out of one cold, wet ride. Of course, I then missed my day out with my hubby, which sucks. But the boys and I had a pretty good day. Spring Break is offically over tomorrow and back to school they both go. Working the 2 days this week broke it up a little, so it wasn't too bad. Of course, being the scrapbooker mommy that I am, they both got their pics taken this week, seperate and together. The together one is good, but Ryan's wasn't the best. Well, more tomorrow.
